Always buy a second calendar every year in order to have one up that specifically only has planned romance dates on them. In this day and age of digital calendars, some folks don’t even buy the old fashion hang on the wall or sit on the desk type. If you’re one of those, go buy one just for this purpose. Calendars are on the cheap and turning one into an all about THE TWO OF YOU, makes it an ALWAYS welcomed cost effective gift. Then there’s always making your own, personalizing it, which only ups the romantic value here…

Only put the two of your birthdays on this calendar. Make a list of the special days on the calendar that you celebrate together, such as the day you met, your yearly anniversary, or even the anniversary of your first kiss. On these days make a point to spend some quality time together, maybe cook a special meal (or pick one up on the way home from work), have a movie ready, or offer them a massage/foot bath…

But more than anything, place DATE DAYS on the pages, where you make it clear, you’re holding that day open for the two of you to spend time.

You can spell out a specific activity you have plans for or put “surprise or secret date” on it. Whatever you do, make sure something DOES happen on the days you’ve marked, even if the original plan falls through. (ie: write them a letter, call and give them as much time as they want for you to talk, leave a singing voice mail or several extra special voicemails/texts. Just do something out of your ordinary that’s romantic.) Bare in mind, you don’t have to go OUT for a date, spending time one on one is romantic based on you giving someone your undivided attention. Use your imagination.
