Go card shopping for your loved one for cards that they can send out of the blue to people in their world. Not just holiday or special occasion cards, but ones that simply communicate that they are thinking about them.

Lets face it; greeting cards aren’t cheap nowadays… But even if there is a budget, thousands of us have partners who can’t get out to go find cards for all sorts of reasons. Honestly, this can be a very welcomed gift. Do you know someone who can’t get out of the house due to medical or other health related issues? Maybe someone with anxiety struggles when they are out in public? How about caregivers who can’t just hop out for a card pit stop? And don’t forget our seniors. Putting some cards in their hands offers them opportunities lost any other way. Homebound partners, often feel bad for not being able to give or exchange cards.

As you pick them out, think about the person who’s gifting them. Don’t get too mushy in their honor LOL. But DO get romantic if that’s appropriate, use common sense.

If you’re giving them to someone who struggles to write, a great addition to this gift is the offer to take dictation for them. We’ve seen couples go to retirement centers, rehab facilities, hospitals and the V.A. for a great date idea and take cards and offer to fill it out for those currently admitted there. Some may have a lover they’re separated from during a medical stay somewhere, where this level of offering can be a serious boost to them and to their relationship. However you work it, this is a nice way to let someone else know you value the people they value.  Buying boxed cards is more than acceptable here, as is heading to the dollar store.
